One of the most important announcements from last year's BlizzCon was the announcement of World of Warcraft , a new mobile game. Many were hoping for World of Warcraft WoTLK Gold, but it wasn't announced, and fans voiced their concerns.
Blizzard has "experimented" using World of Warcraft for mobiles
Blizzard entertainment has "experimented" with adaptations of World of Warcraft for mobile devices, but isn't actively trying to bring the MMORPG to new platforms, the director of production J. Allen Brack told P2Pah today at BlizzCon.
"Mobile is something that I believe we're all enthusiastic about. Everyone has mobile phones. We all have tablets. It's a pretty ubiquitous experience to this point." Brack said.
"We've tried a variety of things (for World of Warcraft ] with tabletdevices, but we don't believe that this is the game we think is the best tablet experience.' We keep our eyes on what the ideal experience would be," he added.
One of the biggest challenges for bringing World of Warcraft to mobiles is adapting the interface Brack explained.
"The experience of using the interface is extremely difficult on a tablet and very difficult on phone. The game was not developed to play on a mobile or play on a tablets," Brack said. "So this is more an opportunity that's likely to buy WoTLK Classic Gold arise rather than thinking about how we're going recreate what we know as the World of Warcraft experience on tablets."
