MB&F Legacy Machine N°1 “Longhorn” Pièce Unique
Just when you thought it was all over, MB&F decided to auction off one of the original Legacy Machine No.1 (LM1) prototypes to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary. This one-of-a-kind timepiece marks the birth of the LM1 collection, which debuted in 2011. The collection was announced in 2017 as a final edition of 18 pieces, giving the MB&F team time to explore other avenues for creative timepieces.MB&F Legacy Machine Sequential Evo
Since all LM1 versions are now sold, the only way to mark this important anniversary is with one of the original prototypes. Not only is this historic piece an important part of MB&F's history, it's also a rarity, as the brand hardly produces Pièces Uniques, making those that exist so sought after.
This LM1 “Longhorn” inherits the HM4 Thunderbolt prototype, which was also sold as a private sale on the 10th anniversary of the HM4 series (2020) to one of the brand’s most avid collectors. In order to make the second prototype auction fairer for all MB&F enthusiasts, MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser has decided to auction the piece at an auction to be held in Geneva on November 7, 2021 (November 7, 2021) Presented by Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo - and donated a large portion of Save Rhino International's proceeds.
So, what is a long horn?
LM1 Longhorn refers to the lugs or lugs, which are one of the most important elements in watch design. The idea of long horns was explored in the original design conversations from 2009 to 2010, but they were problematic because where do you put the spring bars of the strap - near the case or at the tips of the lugs? Depending on your wrist size, either option can result in a poor fit. So Max Büsser and designer Eric Giroud ended up opting for shorter lugs.wholesale replica watches
But Longhorn was always on Max's mind. "During one of our recent brainstorming sessions, it occurred to me to drill two holes for the spring rods on the long horn - one at the tip of the horn and the other near the housing - and let the client decide where he wants his straps .I don't know why I didn't think of this ten years ago!"
What else makes the LM1 Longhorn different?
The vast majority of LM1s are made of white or red gold, platinum and titanium. The LM1 Longhorn features a stainless steel housing; only 18 other stainless steel LM1 models were produced for the 2017 "Final Edition". The LM1 Longhorn features a rhodium-plated baseplate, and for the first time in the history of the LM1, the sub-dials are finished in shiny black, rather than the signature bright white lacquer; combined with the blue hands, it gives this piece an even more unique color combination. The arched bridge that hangs the iconic flying balance wheel is the latest iteration, also from the closing collection, and has a more organic form than earlier "Eiffel Tower" versions.HYT H1 ALU BLUE
A look back at the LM1 story First introduced in 2011, the LM1 pays homage to the great innovators of traditional watchmaking, featuring a monumental central balance, a finely crafted movement, a fully independent dual time zone, a unique vertical power reserve indicator and Elegant case. But it's still a true 3D MB&F machine.
LM1 has witnessed the tremendous talent of its creators, MB&F Friends Jean-François Mojon and Kari Voutilainen of Chronode. Côtes de Genève, highly polished gold sleeves and perfectly beveled bridges with carefully designed internal angles (which can only be done by hand) demonstrate the movement's exemplary finishing. The movement is proudly emblazoned with the name of its creator along with the words "prototype", a testament to this one-of-a-kind timepiece.
In order to open the second prototype auction to all MB&F enthusiasts, MB&F has decided to offer this piece at an auction held in Geneva on November 7, 2021 (November 7, 2021), organized by Phillips and Bacs & Russo Co-host – and donate most of the proceeds to charity.replica watches for sale
The idea to link the LM1 "longhorn" moniker to an endangered species known for its long horns: the rhino, came up during an internal brainstorming session. MB&F chose Save the Rhino International (SRI), a London-based organisation working to protect all five species of rhino in Africa and Asia. By stopping poaching and habitat loss, SRI aims to remove rhinos from the critically endangered species list.
The LM1 Longhorn Pièce Unique will be auctioned by Phillips with Bacs & Russo on Sunday, November 7, 2021, the second day of the Only Watch auction, and MB&F will also be presenting another one-of-a-kind piece , HM10 Panda.
